Web Host Rip Off 123-reg.co.uk?
Has anyone like me had the misfortune of joining money grabbers 123-reg.co.uk they are to be avoided at all costs
You have been warned
I will not rant on, they sold me a service that was of no use to me or my web site.
I am a novice and they know that, I rest my case my hard earned money now in their bank account.
Perhaps some details as to why you think so? There are many web hosts out there and prices vary considerably but what did you sign up for and was it what you wanted? Maybe you could edit and explain a bit more.
I’ve been running a free web hosting service for the past 2 years and it’s good quality, but as part of my agreement with the provider i have to accept pop under ads spammed onto my clients web hosting control panels or on error pages, small price i guess for quality hosting. However, my experience tells me that more than 50% of people who run web sites or want to run web sites have no idea how to use their control panel, and they don’t even take the time to understand easy instructions. It’s more likely than not you just don’t understand the service they have provided you.

I agree with zbdblues to a point. However I have had dealing with 123-reg.co.uk and they are a bit shoddy and slow to say the least with the cpanel.
However I have never used them because I needed more than they offered. such as MSSQL etc.
Their support from what I have seen is not really worth calling it support more like I’ll get back to you when I can be bothered.
However you do get what you pay for and if you prepared to like zbdblues says understand what your doing via the standard cpanel it does work (in a fashion).
But like I sat the rest zbdblues is spot on the mark.
