I really like to know how the host resellers, sale accounts to other people?
do they split the same account, that their host company provide them, and they give the same IP address to their customers? if the answer to this question is yes, first how they control the space have been used by their customers, and secound how the reseller can make sure
that their customer don’t share their IP address with their friends?
and if the answer is NO to my question then how this whole thing works?
Hosting can be done with either a single IP with many domains or an IP per domain.
Name based "Virtual" hosting allows many domains to share the same IP, the domain is pointed to the IP within the DNS setup, but once the IP is reached the server (apache or IIS web servers) will check the name and point to the correct directory based on the domain name. This is very common with low cost hosting services as IP’s are in "short" supply and an IP is not needed for each domain name. In this scenario the domain is fully controlled by the servers allocation by name. Thus its called NAMED BASED hosting.
IP hosting will put a specific IP to a specific domain. This is IP based hosting and usually costs more as it does require an allocated IP per domain name. The domain may well be contained on a server with other domains it just has a specific IP assigned to it. The server can handle many domains on one box, IP or Name based. They can even be mixed on the same hardware. (Yes, you can point multiple IP’s to the same server!)
The accounts are still accessed by the assigned domain name and username and passwords so "sharing" with friends doesn’t work – the user only has access to his/her space on the server.
