how to make cd formate and hosting one web application done by asp.net using c#?

i have completed asp.net project that is web application .code behind c#.web application project want to make a cd formate (my project is online test abt IQ test contain multiple choice ).

Just copy the application to the CD.

Backup the database and copy the backup file to the CD.

Deploying the application on another computer is as simple as copying the application to the root folder of the target computer and marking it as an application under IIS.

The DB has to be restored.

The connection strings in your application (which you should have placed in your web.config file should be changed).

Any other configuration settings should have been placed strictly in your web.config file (so that you do not have to recompile your application when deployed to another server).

Hope this helps.

If you made your website on frontpage 2003 you need to pick Linux still windows operating system for webhosting is if you code in ASP.NET coding which frontpage does not you need linux which uses apache

How to create an ASP.NET 2.0 application when I am using Web Developer 2008?

I can’t get my application to work on the host and I believe the reason is that they are using 2.0 and I am using 3.5. So how can I turn my 3.5 applications into 2.0 applications?

not sure what your asking. (?) you believe the host is using .net 2.0? ask the host. they should list the spects somewhere on there site.

are you programing asp.net programs? if you’ve already programed an asp.net app using the new 3.5 then u can’t convert back. You’d have to uninstall your .net 3.5 and revert back to the older versions. (i believe) never been in that situation before.

What is the best web hosting service that supports ASP.NET and MS SQL Server?

March 15, 2010 asp.net hosting 11 Comments

I’m a professional web application programmer, but I have to admit that I don’t know much about hosting or server tech.

I’d like to have someplace to host my personal projects and attempts at marketable websites. I already have hosting that uses php and mySQL, and while I can get by using those technologies, I’d much prefer to work with ASP.NET and SQL Server, like I do at work.

Also, I’m currently paying $7.95/month for 1500 GB of storage and 5200 GB transfer. That same price would only get me 200 GB of storage and 1000 GB transfer with a host that offers ASP.NET and SQL Server. Should I expect to pay through the nose if I want to use these technologies?

I’d suggest you go with a web host that specializes in both ASP.NET and MS SQL. Lunar is the best one I’ve found, and the one I suggest to my clients.

Here’s a review – http://www.website-hosting-reviews.net/lunarpages.html

There’s a coupon for lunar on the front page of – http://www.website-hosting-reviews.net/

Good luck!

how publish asp.net v2.0 to web hosting. how to set the asp.net project as the application.?

I’m using vwd 2005 express. the page succesfully display on my local computer but when upload to web hosting i get error..?

You need to make sure the server you are posting it to is set up for your application. There needs to be a virtual server, set up for .net 2.0 with the application name matching your application. You might try setting up your own IIS and futzing with the settings until you get it to run on your own machine then set up the server likewise. This is different than hitting the play buttin in VWD. You need to make sure you have IIS installed and setup correctly.

Sky Web Hosting ASP.NET & AJAX?

March 12, 2010 asp.net hosting 3 Comments

Is Sky UK Networks server is based on Microsoft Windows Server 2008, can run any ASP.Net website on there servers?

Yes you can.

But I wouldn’t host with them anyway. Buy the domain name with Sky.Uk.Net and then host it with HostGator. They have good prices and their support is great. What is great too, is that they have 24/7 support. So even though they are US based you can still get help anytime since we are in a different time zone here than they are in the US. When I signed up I used promo codes from here and it was pretty cheap: http://internethostreviews.com/current-hosting-coupons/

Good luck with your decision!

how can i setup my PC to be a hosting server for ASP.net and AJAX control tool kit?

March 3, 2010 asp.net hosting 1 Comment

note that i’m using windows XP SP2 so what software i need? what steps should i go through?

Are you on XP SP2 Home or XP SP2 Pro?

If you’re on Pro then you need to install IIS, you should find this through ‘Add/Remove Windows Components’ on ‘Add/Remove Programs’ in your control panel.

If you’re running Home then you can’t install IIS, you could try Cassini:

http://www.asp.net/projects/cassini/download/

Or XSP that’s part of Mono:

http://www.mono-project.com/Main_Page

But both of these are really only intended as development and testing servers, not for running busy public websites.
