Can anyone come up with a creative wording passage for a hockey-themed wedding invitation?
We are trying to create our wedding invites and are going with a hockey-themed wedding. We (the bride and groom) are hosting the event, but I am having a hard time coming up with a cute/catchy saying to start the invite with. I realize that it will not be overly formal since it is an untraditional/different theme, but I don’t want it super-casual either.
Any ideas??

You can browse that website, it’s like tickets to an event. If you want to go a cheaper route you can make them yourself in the same fashion on paintshop(that’s what I did for my sister’s babyshower, they turned out identical!)….hope this help!..atleast slightly!

Just a few ideas for wording could be something like:

I don’t know, I can’t think of anything else.
The only time it’s ever been "all in the name of fun" to knock your wife’s teeth out.
Har, har. Domestic abuse can be funny.
I kid.
Good on you for being brave and having an nontraditional wedding. I always admire such boldness.
How about something like "We cordially invite you to share in our marriage by joining us for a sport that best represents our personalities. While we acknowledge a hockey game is probably not the most traditional form of celebration, we think you’ll agree that it fits us well. This semi-casual event will include an exchanging of vows, immediately followed by hockey and dinner."
If it’s an nontraditional wedding, there’s no need for traditional invitations. Have fun and congratulations!

If you’re going with a hockey themed wedding, you can expect blue jeans, tennis shoes and jersey’s. I’d be shocked if you wedding wasnt’ super casual.

One thing you might look into is wedding invitations that look like hockey gameday tickets. We did something similr for our wedding. to see an example of what I’m talking about, take a look at http://www.sportsthemedweddings.com.
I have found this article very interesting. It’s a beautifully written article. The write has gathered and arranged information in a brilliant fashion. The beauty of this article is in its language and verbosity. The subject of this article is also very capturing.
We too are having a hockey themed wedding, we are doing our invites like a trade announcement though I am trying to find the right wording myself.
Also if you want people not to wear jeans to the event just put semi-formal occasion on the invites as that is what I am planning to do.
Good luck.
