A pre-made shoppping site for your products? Not going to happen unless you like getting ripped off.

A site on which you can have your site hosted? GoDaddy is fast, has almost 100% up-time (I’ve never found my site down, but no one has 100% up-time forever) and tech support is great. Price is from $5/month paid in 3 month chunks to about $4.25 paid in 3 year chunks.

Domain name is whatever you’re paying for it. You can keep the one you have.

As far as the site, if you don’t know how to create one, you have to pay someone to create one for you. What you’re getting from Homestead is that you’ll pay development cost forever. (You’re paying $300/year for development now.)

Is getting a dedicated-virtual server the best way to avoid getting shared hosting banning because of CPU use?

What I mean is…at Mediatemple.net with their (gs) Grid-Service plan, they only allow 1,000 GPUs and if you go over (instead of getting banned) you have to pay more
and I think "banning" was the wrong to use…I meant "suspending", like how some sites suspend you for a day or more if you happen to get [...]

Are common web hosting services like Godaddy the same as shared web hosting services?

May 4, 2010

Hi,
I want to know if Godaddy, HostGator,… are considered as shared servers or there are differences between mentioned services and a shared web server.
Thank you
I can only answer for GoDaddy as I’m a client. Yes. It’s shared hosting unless you purchased a dedicated hosting plan which is $$$
